Building the Parthenon temple in Athens.

The Parthenon own of the worlds famous wonders was build between 447-432 BCE. The architechts where Iktinos and Kallikrates and the temple was deticated to the goddess Athena. The temple shelterd a monumental statue of Athena which was made from gold and ivory by Pheidias. the temple was completed un 432 BCE. The Parthenon construction cost the Athenian treasury 469 silver talents.

The Parthenon is a temple of the Doric order with eight columns at the facade, and seventeen columns at the flanks, conforming to the established ratio of 9:4. This ratio governed the vertical and horizontal proportions of the temple as well as many other relationships of the building like the spacing between the columns and their height.
